Little Houses

Windows, doors and little houses make up the canvases of Linda Pochesci, who recently had a show at the Nassau Club in Princeton. She’s one of the artists who will be in The Influence of a Teacher: Mel Leipzig and Proteges at the West Windsor Arts Center March 6-April 29.

Of the houses, there is the smallish house that is her studio, and then there are the little houses that can be seen from inside the space of a small hut. It’s about the blue skies outside, and the light and shadows that come in through the windows and doors. There’s an emptiness here, but also a presence in the beams of light that slash through a check of drawers.

There are panes and panels in the windows and doors, squares in the ceiling tiles and long rectangles in the panels on the wall — it’s all about geometry and precision. Everything is clean, white and in focus.
