Contemplation, concept, craftsmanship and composition — those are the “four Cs” juror Kenneth Kaplowitz used in selecting artwork for Gallery 125’s exhibit Art for Art’s Sake opening April 9, 6-9 p.m., and running through June 3.
Mr. Kaplowitz is a professor of art at The College of New Jersey where he has taught Communications, Television, Film Making, Photography and Drawing for 39 years.
On display are works from regional artists in photography, oil, wood, graphite, acrylic, mixed media, digital and sumi ink. Mr. Kaplowitz believes contemplation, concept, craftsmanship and composition are integral in the making art.
Above, “Zen,” a paper collage by artist Kat Block, is one of the works on view.
