Homespun

What’s going on down in your basement?

Is it where you do laundry, is it where the kids play… and just what are the kids doing down there.

The dog in this painting is checking it out. And if I had a basement like this one, I’d be down there all the time, doing laundry. Laundry, when you think about it, is a wonderful thing. The lovely clean scent. And all those wonderfully clean clothes you get to fold. It’s nice knowing you have a basket of fresh laundry on hand.

Focusing on the family, the TCNJ Gallery is presenting Homespun, an exhibition of painting exploring contemporary visions of the domestic, running through April 1. At left: Michael Perrone’s “Iowa Basement,” acrylic on aluminum.
