Save the Park!

You know you’re living in dire times when the nation’s parks are threatened. Fortunately, artists are rallying to the cause.

Canal Frame-Crafts Gallery will showcase the work of area artists who have joined forces to help in the fundraising efforts for Washington Crossing State Park which has recently been faced with devastating budget cuts. “Rally the Troops” continues through March 6. George Washington (John Godzieba) will be greeting visitors at a special reception will be held on Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13 from 5-8 p.m. His troops will be standing guard as well and light refreshments will be offered.

A portion of the sales of any item in the gallery relating to the park including originals, prints, antique prints, cards, and ornaments during the show will be made to the Friends of Washington Crossing State Park. Gallery hours are Tues.-Sat. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thurs. 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

One Response to Save the Park!

  1. Ilene, thank you profoundly for calling attention to the plight of the Washington Crossing Visitors’ Center, to the situation of all of our parks, for that matter.

It’s grand to see art and nature together in other venues (in addition to D&R Greenway Land Trust), urging attention and preservation. This will be more and more the province of citizens.

    You do so much good!

    Gratefully, Carolyn
