You can feel the heavy load these trucks carry as they trundle their way through the snow. Not just the literal load, of course, but the heavy industrial load weighing down on them from the towers behind. Even the house looks like an industrial facility in this beautifully rendered purplish scene.
The watercolors of Steve Zazenski and a collection of small paintings by some of the areas best known artists will be on view at the Riverrun Gallery, Route 29, Lambertville, through Dec. 31.
The Small Gems exhibit includes works by Dean Thomas, Gail Braegirdle, Bob Hahn, Betty Manucci, Ty Hodanish, Nancy Lloyd, Matrice Roache, Allen Sassman and others. Specially created for this holiday show, the works are affordably priced for gift giving.
The landscapes of Steve Zazenski are drawn from his recent travels overseas along with industrial scenes of his north New Jersey heritage. His work takes you to places that feel like home. His work has won major awards at the garden State Watercolor Exhibition, Allied Artists Professional League, the Salmagundi Club and the Washington Square Outdoor Exhibit. 609-397-3340;www.riverrungallery.net
