The Abud Family Foundation for the Arts is exhibiting the work of Igor Corrales, born in Somoto, Nicaragua, and living and painting in the Basque region of Spain. His collection of oil paintings titled “Donostia” (San Sebastian) will be on display in the foundation’s gallery Oct. 15 to Nov. 19, with an opening reception Oct. 15, 5-8 p.m.: 3100 Princeton Pike, Bldg 4, 3rd floor, Lawrence. “Donostia,” as seen thru the eyes of Mr. Corrales, is a colorful collection of oil paintings, depicting boats and shipyards, intense colors and bright seascapes. It captures the city of San Sebastian in the Basque region of Spain.
Mr. Corrales’ paintings have been exhibited in Spain, Portugal and France. He also participated in group exhibits in Trinidad and Tobago representing his native country of Nicaragua. This first show of the “Donostia” collection is also Mr. Corrales’ first exhibit in the US.
