Mike Mann is back, and this time he’s in an ice cream shop. What could be more fun than that?
Stockton artist Mr. Mann (read my post about him last year) will be showing a new collection of his colorful watercolor paintings at Buck’s Ice Cream and Espresso Bar, 27 Bridge St., Lambertville, Oct. 1-31. Mr. Mann will be on hand to greet the public Oct. 1, 7:30-9 p.m.
This collection includes scenes from Buenos Aires, where the artist spent much of last winter, and Ocean City, N.J., as well as places in and around Lambertville. All of the works were done from life, and Mr. Mann says working en plein air is always challenging but it opens the artist up to knowing a place much more intimately than from a photo. “And it is also a great way to meet people,” he adds.
Mr. Mann studied fine art illustration at the Art Students’ League of New York primarily under Steven R. (Joe) Kidd. The artist has been showing regularly in what he describes as alternative venues.
Buck’s is open 7a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekends.
