In a Dream

Philadelphia artist Isaiah Zagar has spent his life’s career creating enormous mosaics which encrust entire buildings, from floor to ceiling, in alleys and rooftops. His work is a well known fixture of Philadelphia’s South Street neighborhood. In fact, he has covered more than 40,000 feet of Philadelphia with his whimsical creations.Recently, Isaiah and his wife Julia became the focus of In A Dream, a documentary made by their son, Jeremiah. The documentary includes all the elements that make for any good movie, romance, passion, love, mental illness, an evolution of artistic style and well developed characters. The fact that the movie was filmed by the subject’s son gives a profound feeling of truth and reality.
